Camp Upkeep

This section lists items/projects which need to be done to or for unit equipment. Some are one-time repairs, some are continual upkeep of items. Here's a list in case you feel ambitious.

  1. Cook's Tent

    1. Tent needs to be setup and thoroughly cleaned
    2. All stake loops need to be inspected and repaired as necessary
    3. New uprights need to be made (main and for awning)
    4. Tent needs to be painted (possible with a sign or symbol showing what it is used for) Flags for tents as an alternative. There is a committee assigned to this.
    5. Bag for tent
    6. Storage for tent stakes

  2. Tables

    1. Large table needs to be sanded and oiled
    2. Folding tables need to be sanded and refinished

  3. Cook's Gear

    1. All pots/cast iron needs to be thoroughly cleaned, rust removed as necessary and seasoned
    2. All current cooking gear needs to be inspected for period appropriateness and non-period items converted or discarded
    3. Convert frying pans
    4. Longer cooking forks made
    5. Tripod leg straightened
    6. New kitchen gear made (see cooking documentation woodcuts)
    7. Kitchen knives cleaned thoroughly, rust removed and sharpened as necessary
    8. Leather knife roll needs to be made to safely transport sharp knives (not loose in a basket or bag!)
    9. Wooden kitchen stuff needs to be oiled
    10. Keg needs to be soaked and sealed
    11. Laminated inventory sheets showing what should be in each box
    12. Packing sheets (multiple copies) for cook's gear so stuff stops being left behind (sheet that shows menu and what will be needed to cook each item on the menu)

  4. Weapons/Armor

    1. Pikes - new heads for old pikes
    2. Pikes - new 14'
    3. End caps or rings for all pikes
    4. Butt caps for halberds
    5. Butt caps for spears
    6. Pike decorations and pennants
    7. Weapons rack
    8. Weapons pell
    9. Clean and oil pikes
    10. Clean and oil halberds

    12. Make practice swords (wooden short swords and dusacks)

  5. Loaner Clothing

    1. More needs to exist (men and women)

    1. First aid kit restocked, period box for first aid kit made
